My 3-Year-Old Nephew: The Tiny Guru I Didn’t See Coming

By Hitiksha Jain

A few years ago, if you had told me that some of the most profound spiritual lessons I’d learn would come from a three-year-old, I would’ve laughed. What could a child possibly teach me about life, presence, or inner peace?

And yet, here I am—humbled, motivated, and transformed—thanks to my young nephew.

Spending time with him seems like entering another universe, one where joy abounds, love is effortless, and every moment is lived with complete honesty. He does not read self-help books, meditate, or pursue achievement. But in his naive chuckles, blind trust, and never-ending curiosity, I see the wisdom that many of us spend our lives seeking.

Most days, when I return from running errands, my nephew is waiting by the entrance, like a tiny greeter at a VIP event. When I walk inside, his face lights up as if I've just returned from a lengthy journey. Without saying anything, he rushes straight at me, arms wide, as if I were the most important person in the world. Every time, the pure, unfiltered ecstasy surprises me. It makes me wonder: When was the last time I greeted someone, even myself, with such enthusiasm?

Discovering the Art of Purposeful Living with Ikigai

By Hitiksha Jain

Like many, I often find myself caught in the whirlwind of daily tasks - ticking off to-do lists, meeting deadlines, and staying busy. Despite the constant activity, there was always a sense that something was missing. It wasn’t a lack of productivity but the feeling of moving through life on autopilot - checking boxes without genuine fulfilment.

Recently, I was inspired to revisit Ikigai after coming across a reel on Instagram. This book had initially sparked my interest in non-fiction, but this time, its message struck a deeper chord. As I turned the pages, I realised I had been drifting - moving from one task to the next without truly connecting with what resonated within me.

If you’ve ever worked out, you might be familiar with the concept of the ‘mind-muscle connection’ - the practice of being fully present in each movement. It dawned on me that this principle could extend far beyond the gym. By bringing mindfulness into daily activities - whether working, cooking, or conversing - even the most routine moments could transform into meaningful, intentional experiences.

The Power of Gratitude: A Spiritual Practice for Daily Life

By Hitiksha Jain

“The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.” – Mary Davis

Gratitude is one of those words that gets tossed around like confetti at a parade, wouldn’t you agree? But have you ever thought about its deeper, spiritual side? In a world where we often find ourselves sprinting toward the next shiny thing, gratitude can be a refreshing pit stop that reminds us of life’s little treasures—whether it’s that perfect cup of coffee or your dog’s enthusiastic greeting, as though you’re a celebrity, each time you return home.

What Is Gratitude, Really?

You likely know the meaning but let me reiterate it for you: Gratitude is simply the conscious recognition and appreciation of the good things in life. And by “good things,” I mean everything from that die-for-you sunset you caught on your evening stroll to a random act of kindness. It’s a gentle nudge to remember that even when the going gets tough, there’s always something to be grateful for.

Exploring the Spiritual Depth of Anuv Jain's "Husn": A Soul's Dialogue - A Journey Within

#Reflection #SpiritualJourney #AnuvJain #Husn #SoulAndBody #RoadTrip #PersonalGrowth #Introspection #MusicAndMeaning #AngadBahra #MukulJain #RealMe #WhoAmI

It was a typical Friday evening, the kind where I found myself rushing to finish work before the weekend arrived. The thought of a 400-kilometre solo road trip the next day filled me with anticipation - there was something irresistible about the idea of hitting the open road alone, with nothing but my thoughts and the freedom to drive. Just as I was about to log off, my brother, in his usual understated and quiet manner, suggested a song: "Husn" by Anuv Jain. While it wasn’t a new song, he introduced it with a perspective that caught my attention. He said, “Listen to it as if your soul (Aatma) is speaking to your body.”

In that very moment, I realized this song would become my companion for the 400-kilometer solo road trip.

His words lingered with me. The idea of my soul communicating with my body through a song was both fascinating and slightly unsettling. What exactly did he mean? I could grasp his intention, but the depth of it remained elusive. Still, as I pressed play and allowed the song to wash over me, something inside began to shift. The lyrics, the melody - they felt like a quiet invitation to pause and contemplate who I really am beneath the daily routines and layers of identity.

In the vast world of music, certain songs go beyond being just tunes or stories. They pull you into a deeper realm of introspection, and "Husn" was one such song for me. While on the surface it speaks of relationships, its lyrics subtly suggest a much more profound conversation: the timeless dialogue between the soul and the self. It beckons us to face one of life’s greatest questions: Who am I? and, perhaps more importantly, What does that "I" truly represent?

Amish Grace is more than just a film about tragedy; it is a deep exploration of values, simplicity, and spiritual resilience. It beautifully captures the essence of what truly matters in life - community, forgiveness, and inner peace - while offering timeless lessons on minimalism and emotional clarity. Set against the backdrop of an unimaginable loss, the film’s portrayal of the Amish community’s response to the Nickel Mines school shooting opens up broader reflections on how a simpler, value-driven life can lead to ultimate happiness.

This is a movie we’ve watched countless times with our kids, gathered around with popcorn, and each viewing brings forth something new to reflect on. Every time we press play, the film's message of grace, compassion, and living with less becomes even more profound. What’s truly special is how, with each viewing, the lessons it teaches evolve as we do - offering new insights that we can carry into our lives. There’s a richness in this story that never fades, no matter how many times we return to it.

The Story Behind the Oil-to-Gold Price Ratio: What History Tells Us About Today’s Economy

The other day, I came across this fascinating graph - one that charted the oil-to-gold price ratio over the last several decades. At first glance, it seemed like just another set of squiggly lines, but as I studied it, the story it told began to unfold. It was a tale of global conflict, economic crises, technological revolutions, and dramatic shifts in the value of two of the world’s most important commodities: oil and gold. I couldn't help but dive deeper into what this ratio reveals about our world (especially considering that the Yellow metal is up 13% and Brent has gone down 17% in three months), and it turned out to be a lot more than just numbers on a chart.

The Skeletons in the Box: A Journey Through Life, Living, and Death

Artwork by Neysha Kushagra Jain

It was a quiet afternoon when my 12 year old niece, Neysha, walked in, a beaming smile on her face, proudly holding up her latest creation - a painting for her school project. At first glance, it seemed simple: three skeletons standing in a box against a backdrop of black and red. She handed it to me eagerly, seeking my opinion, but as I took the painting in my hands, something unexpected happened.

In that moment, I found myself transported - not just into the art, but into the depths of my own mind. The lines, the colors, the starkness of the skeletons stirred something within me, and I felt myself pulled into a reflection that transcended the canvas. These three skeletons, standing side by side, seemed to whisper questions older than time itself. In their stillness, I saw birth, life, and death all packed together within a box, and a profound realization began to take root.

As I stared at the painting, it became more than a simple school project. It became a mirror, reflecting the cycles of existence and the boundaries we all live within. My thoughts began to swirl - Who am I within this box? What remains after all is said and done? And so began a journey, a deep dive into the mystery of life, the self, and the eternal truths that hide within the simplest of forms.

Navigating Turbulent Waters: Germany's Economic Crossroads - Industrial Powerhouse Stumbles Amidst Geopolitical and Structural Challenges

Germany once sailed the seas of global trade like a majestic ship, its towering sails stretched wide with the winds of prosperity. Built on a foundation of industrial steel and powered by the steady, cheap flow of Russian gas, this ship glided effortlessly through the economic waters, cutting through storms that would have sunk lesser vessels. It was the pride of Europe’s fleet, commanding respect and awe from every port.

But today, the waters have become dangerous. The engines that once ran strong are now stalling, weakened by the loss of Russian gas. The ship, once unstoppable, is losing speed, and cracks are starting to show. Its crew, once loyal and hardworking, is growing old and struggling to keep up with the changing demands. Meanwhile, new ships, like China’s, are rising fast and cutting through the waters with determination, ready to overtake the once-powerful giant.

In this storm of uncertainty, Germany, the ship that once led the global fleet, now drifts, searching for a course through turbulent seas. And from the docks stands another figure, watching the horizon - India. It surveys the tides, understanding that every ripple Germany makes sends waves across the world. India, a rising ship in its own right, wonders how the fate of this once-mighty vessel will reshape its own journey. The scene is almost like a classic Bollywood narrative - the indomitable hero, now vulnerable, surrounded by villains in the form of geopolitical rivalries, internal inefficiencies, and shifting global winds.

From the Gita to Aarya to Our Road Trips: The Divine Symphony, The Battlefeild Within

As the cold desert winds of Rajasthan swept through our car, the hauntingly beautiful melody of The Bhagavad Gita song by Vishal Khurana (Aarya) echoed with us. It wasn’t your typical road trip anthem - no upbeat rhythms or catchy hooks. But there was something profound in its serenity, something that made it the perfect soundtrack for our family’s annual journey through the desert roads. It wasn’t just a song; it was a reminder, a guide, a spiritual compass pointing us toward something deeper - peace, purpose, and the realization that the road we travel, much like life itself, has already been charted.

In both the Bhagavad Gita and Aarya, the popular series on Hotstar, a deeper truth unfolds - one that reveals the essence of destiny. Like Arjuna, who stands at the battlefield in the Gita, torn between duty and emotion, Aarya struggles with choices that affect not only her life but the lives of many around her. But as both characters discover, everything is already written; they are simply fulfilling roles in a script long decided. This idea is deeply embedded in the lyrics and the essence of The Bhagavad Gita song by Vishal Khurana, which carries immense spiritual significance. The song’s depth echo the wisdom of the Gita itself, reminding us that we are merely the doers, acting in a divine play already planned by the universe.
